ICC T20 World Cup 2009: Pakistan Squad Announced!

Pakistan will be lead by Younis Khan in the T20 world cup for 2009 edition. In the first edition, they lost to India in the closely faught final. Misbah-ul-Haq played an innings of his life to take Pakistan close to winning but in the last over, he tried to scoop the ball beyond the short fine leg fielder, but gave a catch to give victory to India.

This year, Pakistan has played only one T20 so far which they have won. Their only game was played on May 7, 2009 in Dubai against Australia and beat them comfortably.

NZ Squad Announced!

Daniel Vettori, currently playing as a key spinner for Delhi Daredevils will continue to lead New Zealand in the 2009 ICC T20 World Cup. McCullum brothers are included in the side with Brendon doing the wicket keeping and Nathan as a spinner.

Australian Squad Announced!

The injury return fast bowler Brett Lee is back in the side for the T20 World Cup for 2009. The issue "liker" Andrew Symonds is also back in the side.

They both were already included in the series Pakistan.

T20 WC Indian Team Announced! RP Singh Back! Dhoni to Lead!

The Indian cricket team for the forthcoming 2nd edition of the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in England starting June.

RP Singh, who was out of the Indian team for the past seven months is back in the squad. He was the highest wicket taker for Indian team during the first edition which India won beating Pakistan in the last over thriller.

Besides RP Singh, Ojha and Jadeja, Ishant Sharma, Suresh Raina, and Praveen Kumar were also picked up.

Dhoni will continue to lead the Dhoni again. He lead the Indian team to victory during the previous edition and the only 2nd captain after Kapil Dev to give victory to India in a world ucp final. Virendra Sehwag will be the vice-captain.

Wicket-Keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik and Robin Uthappa were left out of the team.

India is in group A along with Bangladesh and Ireland. The first match is scheduled for June 5 and final on June 21.

The ICC has announced the schedule for the forthcoming T20 World Cup to be held in England starting in June 2009. For preliminary rounds, the teams are divided into four groups with each group having 3 teams.
