Match 9: Pak v. Net: Pakistan enter Super 8, Netherland out!

Pakistan beat Netherlands comfortably and qualified for the super 8. At the start of the match, Pakistan was under pressure to beat Netherlands by a big margin of runs or balls. Having lost their first match to England by 45 runs, they have to beat Netherlands with a better margin so that they can qualify for the super 8. So, a win alone will not do good for Pakistan.

Pakistan, deciding to bat first, put 175 on the board. Kamaran Akmal scored 41 while the other opener Salman Butt scored 18. Younis Khan scored 36 in just 20 balls which included 3 sixes.

Netherlands required to score at least 150 to enter the super 8 regardless of the result of the match. But, they were not able to manage it and bundled out for 93 in just 17.3 overs. Afridi picked 4 wickets giving away 11 runs and became the bowler with best figures.
